"Le Chateau - Fresnoy en Gohelle was a truly remarkable find. My wife and I stayed for two nights to give ourselves time to visit the Vimy Memorial. The Chateau is a beautifully restored home with a small number of exceptionally nice guest rooms. Add to that the warmth and helpfulness of Jannik, and you have an outstanding choice for accommodations. This would be our only choice if we were to return to this area."
"Fabulous Chateau beautifully decorated and furnished in Art Deco style. Jannick, our hostess, was charming and very welcoming. Our room was excellent with a large comfortable bed, a sofa and armchair and tasteful ornaments. Far removed from the usual Hotel bedroom!! The tray supper was excellent and dining on the roof terrace in the setting sun with a view of the gardens made it different and romantic. A great French breakfast too with local breads and croissants and home-made jams. Highly recommend Le Chateau as a very special place to stay."
"We arrived in Paris and were planning to head to the Newfoundland Memorial and Vimy/ We opted to stay close to Arras at the Chateau for two nights. ||The Chateau has been completely renovated and is stunning. The bedroom was large and bright with windows overlooking the immaculate grounds. The bathroom was completely updated with a large glass shower. The only oddity was the toilet was in separate room at the opposite end of the bedroom The bed itself was divinely comfortable and covered in quality linens. ||Since our first day was a long travel day we elected to order the evening trays from the Chateau. We bought wine in Arras to accompany our meal although we later learned that the Chateau could also have provided it. One of our party is gluten and dairy free which was difficult for the Chateau to accommodate so we picked up food for that person. We were able to eat dinner in a very cozy living room area in front of a fireplace. It was a relaxing way to finish the day. The Chateau dinner trays were excellent and filling. ||Each morning we enjoyed a continental breakfast of pastries, homemade jams, cereal, yogurt, tea and coffee served in the large dining room overlooking the grounds. It was a wonderful opportunity to share stories with other guests. ||Jannick, the owner, recommended a terrific restaurant for dinner in the evening and arranged transportation as we did not want to drive if we were consuming wine with dinner. ||We commend Jannick for the peaceful ambiance that she has created. We loved our stay at the Chateau."
"What a gem! We stayed here for 2 nights to be close to sites of the Great War, including Vimy Ridge. Le Chateau is stunning. The owner and host, Jannick, made us feel so welcome. We arrived to a roaring fire and an espresso in the common great room. This is an immaculately renovated heritage building in a small village. We stayed in La suite Privilège, which included a private sitting room, a luxurious bathroom, and an elegant bedroom. The bed was very comfortable. Jannick provides many thoughtful and elegant extras, and even welcomed us with a card and chocolates to celebrate our honeymoon. Breakfast is a wonderful selection of fresh French pastries, fresh orange juice, cheese, homemade jams, and the like. Jannick was a delight to talk to, and we hope to return in the future, and see the property in full bloom! Thank you for a wonderful stay, it is a beautiful place!"
"Wow! What a magnificent place. The decor brings the best of the past into the present with fresh contemporary style. Owner Jannick is charming and elegant (the embodiment of French style). After a day of driving to the Canadian war memorials and military graveyards, relaxing in front of the fireplace with a dinner tray was the perfect way to enjoy this stunning home. Breakfast was also delicious. A very memorable and lovely place to stay."
